Meet friendly helpful creative people in Kansai
We’re a friendly bunch, we’re from Kansai after all. We’re also a co-operative group as we know opportunities are harder to come by than in Tokyo. We have members who are designers, developers, artists, translators and entrepreneurs, each looking out for one another. If you’re job-hunting, hoping to get feedback on your current project or are new to the area, chances are that there’s a member who can help.
Casual, relaxed environment
This isn’t your typical high paced business card swapping networking event. In fact our policy has a rule that frowns upon mindless card exchanges. Talk in English, Japanese. Come in late, leave early. Bring your kids, make an announcement. It’s all ok.
And because they’ve been inspired by meeting others, members actually say they feel refreshed afterwards not drained and tired. In short, it’s a lot of fun.
Free to join and participate
No member fees and no cost to take part, even the coffee is free (doughnuts too but they’re usually gone quick). OpenCoffee Osaka is sponsored by messa.in in the hope that a stronger, more prosperous creative community can be built in Kansai.
Regular monthly meetings
We have meetings every month, with the date decided by group consensus. Regular meetings = active group. It also means there’s no pressure to attend every meetup. Miss one and the next one is the following month.
